U.S. Sen. Tommy Tuberville’s campaign to become Alabama’s next Governor opened 2026 with a strong fundraising performance.

The campaign reported raising just over $1 million in January, bolstered by a Republican fundraising event in Mobile that brought in more than $700,000, the largest GOP fundraiser ever held in that city, according to campaign officials.

The haul underscores Tuberville’s financial strength as he leads the 2026 Republican field. His campaign has consistently outpaced other candidates, drawing on broad donor support across the state as he transitions from the U.S. Senate to a statewide executive race.

“Coach Tuberville is on track to shatter every fundraising record in Alabama,” said Jackie Curtiss, Tuberville’s lead fundraiser. “I've been fundraising for more than a decade in Alabama, and I've never seen the level of enthusiasm and financial commitment as we are seeing for Coach. But we aren’t getting too comfortable. Coach wants to run like he’s 10 points behind. We’re going to continue building on his incredible momentum until we cross the finish line in November.”

The January numbers follow a strong fundraising year in 2025, when Tuberville’s campaign reported raising multiple millions in early months of the race. His fundraising advantage has made him the clear front-runner in the Republican primary ahead of the May 19, 2026 contest.

As the campaign moves forward, Tuberville’s team says it will keep pushing fundraising efforts while building voter support across Alabama. The general election is set for November 3, 2026.
