Thursday evening, in a post on Truth Social, President Donald J Trump gave his endorsement to Tommy Tuberville in the Alabama gubernatorial race.
In his post, the President said:

The endorsement by the President had been anticipated, with only its timing coming as a surprise to many who were expecting it sometime after the close of qualifying for the May 19 primary on Friday, January 23.
Tuberville will face Bessemer businessman Ken McFeeters, and anyone else who qualifies on Friday, in the primary.
