Two Weeks to Election Day: A Promise to Put Alabama First
A Message from Attorney Everett Wess, Democratic Nominee for the United States Senate
From the Wess campaign
October 20, 2026
With just two weeks remaining before this very important election, the choice facing Alabama voters could not be clearer. This election is about our future, our families, our children, and the kind of Alabama we want to leave for the next generation.
I am running for the United States Senate because I believe Alabamians deserve hope for a better future. I believe working families deserve relief from rising costs, our communities deserve leaders who listen, and the people of Alabama deserve a senator whose loyalty is to them, not to a political party or any administration.
My pledge to the citizens of Alabama is simple: My loyalty will be to you, your families, and your children.
Bringing an End to War and Putting American Families First
We must make responsible decisions about war and peace. As your senator, I will work with my colleagues in the Senate to bring a war powers resolution before Congress and push to end the war in Iran. Decisions about military action must receive the serious congressional consideration our Constitution requires. Our service members, their families, and the American people deserve leadership that puts peace, security, and accountability first.
At home, families are struggling to afford groceries, gasoline, and health care. These are not abstract political issues. They are everyday concerns for parents trying to feed their children, seniors managing prescription costs, workers commuting to their jobs, and rural communities fighting to preserve access to medical care.
I will work to lower these costs, protect access to affordable health care, and advance policies that give Alabama families a fair opportunity to get ahead. Washington must focus on the needs of the people it serves.
Alabama Deserves Independent Leadership
My opponent, Barry Moore, has repeatedly demonstrated his support for the current administration. I believe Alabama needs a senator who will exercise independent judgment, ask difficult questions, and stand up for our citizens, even when doing so means disagreeing with his own party or the president.
Alabamians cannot afford blind political loyalty while families face high grocery bills, expensive gasoline, and rising health care costs. We need results, not rubber-stamp politics. We need leadership that puts Alabama first.
Our foreign policy must also be guided by America's national interests, sound judgment, and accountability. I believe Congress must take its constitutional responsibilities seriously when decisions involving war and military deployments are made.
Elected Officials Work for the People
During the fall of 2025, my opponent, Barry Moore, left a town hall meeting while constituents were attempting to engage with him. That incident became a powerful reminder of something I believe deeply: elected officials work for the people—not the other way around.

When citizens take time out of their lives to attend a public meeting, they deserve to be heard. They deserve answers to their questions and an opportunity to express their concerns. Public service requires accountability, accessibility, and respect for the people who elect us.
As your United States senator, I will show up. I will listen. I will hold town halls. I will visit communities across Alabama, from our largest cities to our smallest rural towns. I will make myself accessible to the people I represent because your voices matter.
You should never have to wonder whether your senator is willing to hear your concerns.
A Better Future for Alabama Begins With You
This campaign is about more than one election or one political party. It is about restoring faith in government and proving that public service can make a meaningful difference in people's lives.
I want Alabama families to have hope. I want our children to see opportunities for success here at home. I want our rural communities to have access to health care, our workers to have opportunities for good-paying jobs, and our seniors to live with dignity. I want a government that listens to its citizens and works to solve the problems they face every day.
With two weeks left, I ask you to consider what kind of leadership Alabama needs in Washington. Do we need more partisan loyalty, or do we need a senator who will listen to the people? Do we need more of the same, or can we work together toward a better future?
I believe we can do better. I believe Alabama deserves better. And I believe our best days can still be ahead of us.
I am Attorney Everett Wess, and I am asking for your vote on Tuesday, November 3, 2026.
I will work for you. I will listen to you. I will stand up for Alabama.
I will not walk away from Alabama.
Let us move forward together and build a better future for our families, our children, and the great state of Alabama.
Make Alabama Blue. Put Alabama First.
