U.S. Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene Met With Protests in H’ville—Moms for Liberty Undaunted
M4L fundraiser proceeded without incident Saturday

U.S. Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) drew a mixed reaction Saturday evening during her appearance at the sold‑out Moms for Liberty fundraiser at Stovehouse in Huntsville. As Greene spoke to a capacity crowd, dozens of protesters assembled less than a mile away, at Campus 805, voicing strong opposition to her presence in the city.
Geoff Angle, representing the activist group 50501, delivered a clear message for Greene: “Marjorie Taylor Greene, you are not welcome in Huntsville, get out.” He told WHNT that the protest was “part of a weekend of resistance and community building” and that the event coincided with the Stonewall anniversary, which they felt made Greene’s appearance especially inappropriate.
Local advocacy groups also challenged Moms for Liberty’s role in regional education controversies. A representative from Rainbow Trouble, Erica Foster, highlighted concerns about censorship: “We wanted to have the ‘Marjorie Taylor Queens’ book drive just to celebrate all those books people told us we need to be worried about reading.”
Inside Stovehouse, Moms for Liberty leaders described their evening as a success. Madison County chapter chairwoman Emily Jones said that although Greene can be polarizing, her involvement elevates awareness of their cause. “We have a lot of issues going on with parental rights and the protection of kids, not just in Madison County but across the state,” Jones told WAFF, adding that Greene brings essential visibility to Moms for Liberty and the causes it supports.
Jones confirmed that the event had sold out and that all proceeds will support the local chapter. She said the noise from outside never entered the venue: “We’ve actually not heard anything until we stepped outside… we are really focused on raising awareness for our mission and staying focused on that… our focus is 100% on our event, raising awareness on our mission and getting more people engaged in our fight.”
Despite protests and signs denouncing both Greene and Moms for Liberty, the group held their fundraiser on schedule. The evening passed without incident.
