Undecided Voters Dominate Alabama AG Race
Recent polling shows 74% of voters have yet to choose a candidate for Attorney General
Three quarters of likely Republican voters have yet to select a candidate to be the next Alabama Attorney General (AG), according to a recent poll.
A recent Statewide survey of 638 Republicans done by DC firm 1892 found the following:
12% — Jay Mitchell
9% — Pamela Casey
6% — Katherine Robertson
74% — Undecided
The percentages were derived from a neutral question presented at the beginning of the poll, which had a reported Margin of Error (MoE) of +/- 3.88%.
The top two candidates, Mitchell and Casey, are statistically tied, with Robertson only lagging slightly behind but still within the margin of error to Casey.
Given the amount of attention that has already been directed towards the AG race, it is somewhat surprising that such a large portion of the electorate remains undecided. The implications are clear: the Republican AG contest is wide open, and it’s any candidates to win.
Mitchell, Casey and Robertson will face off in the Republican primary on May 19.
