We're in the fight of our lives

I wanted to reach out personally as we head into the final stretch of this election.
When I last wrote to you, we were just getting started. We had organizers hitting the ground, county chairs getting trained, and 138 candidates ready to take on the MAGA machine across Alabama. We had momentum and we had a plan.
A lot has happened since then.
We've watched the Supreme Court gut the Voting Rights Act — the law that people bled for on the Edmund Pettus Bridge, right here in our state. We've watched MAGA Republicans gerrymander maps designed to silence Black voters and erase Black congressional representation. We've watched Tommy Tuberville — a man who doesn't even live in Alabama — get protected by a sham hearing that made a mockery of the law he'd have to swear to uphold as Governor.
And through all of it, I want you to know something: We never stopped organizing.
Our regional and field organizers are deployed across the state. Our precinct captain program is up and running. Our county chairs are trained and ready. We've built the kind of infrastructure this party hasn't had in decades — not just for 2026, but for the long haul.
I've spent my life in the church, in the streets, and in the political arena. I've seen movements rise and fall. I've learned that the ones who win aren't always the ones with the most money or the most power — they're the ones who stayed organized when things got hard and stayed faithful when the road got long.
This road has been long. But we are organized. We are faithful. And we are ready.
Trump's approval has cratered by 7 points in Alabama since January 20th. Voters are angry about rising costs, an unauthorized war, and a government that serves billionaires instead of working families. The ground is shifting beneath the MAGA machine's feet.
Now we have to make sure we're positioned to capitalize on every inch of that shift.
From fewer than 40 active county units to all 67. From no finance staff to a full organizing operation. From being written off to fielding 138 candidates in the most ambitious Democratic effort Alabama has seen in over a decade.
We've built something real here. Something that lasts. But the final stretch of any race is where it's won or lost — and we need resources to run it.
I'm honored to lead this party through this moment. I believe in what we're building. And I believe in the people who've stood with us every step of the way.
Let's finish this together.
