West Shelby Eagle Forum Meeting to be July 23
Ann Eubank to speak on ‘Data Centers and Their Impact’ in Helena at Cornerstone Church
The West Shelby Eagle Forum Action Group will be meeting Thursday, July 23 at Cornerstone Church, 2694 County Rd 58, Helena, AL 35080.
The meeting will begin promptly at 6:00 PM, and is free and open to the public.
The featured speaker will be Ann Eubank, Founder of Alabama Legislative Watchdogs, on the topic “Data Centers and Their Impact: What Every Citizen Should Know.” Some of the consequences Eubank will discuss include:
• Constant industrial noise from cooling systems and backup generators
• Water pollution risks from runoff, chemical use, and massive cooling water discharge
• Environmental disruption affecting wildlife habitats, migratory patterns, and sensitive ecosystems
• Heavy water consumption that strains local supplies during drought conditions
• Increased electrical demand that forces costly grid upgrades and higher rates
• Loss of rural character as quiet areas become industrial zones
• Taxpayer-funded incentives negotiated without public input
