With Two Weeks to Go Before Birmingham Council Runoff, Brian Gunn Ramps Up Outreach Across District 4
“This runoff is our chance to turn momentum into real change”—Brian Gunn

Brian Gunn, candidate for Birmingham City Council’s District 4, is pushing hard to turn grassroots energy into votes as the October 7 runoff looms. His campaign has launched a series of community events aimed at bringing neighbors together and refocusing attention on local issues.
So far, Gunn’s team says it has knocked on over 7,000 doors and placed more than 5,000 calls to voters across District 4 — among the heaviest outreach efforts in this year’s council races. His campaign has also built a broad coalition of endorsements, including:
- Alabama College Democrats
- Alabama Young Democrats
- Birmingham Young Democrats
- For the Future Victory Fund
- Communications Workers of America Local 3902
- Moms Demand Action (Gun Sense Candidate)
- Progressive Change Campaign Committee
- Alabama Cannabis Coalition
- Birmingham Realtors Association
- Central Alabama Labor Federation – AFL-CIO
- IBEW Local 136
- Jefferson County Progressive Democratic Council
- Alabama New South Coalition
- Democratic Municipal Officials
“More than 70% of District 4 voters called for new leadership in the first round,” Gunn said. “These events are a chance to connect with neighbors, talk about the future, and keep building the momentum for real change.”
Upcoming Events Across District 4 include:
