2026 Macy’s Day Parade Will Include University of Alabama’s Million Dollar Band
Chosen from over 100 applicants as one of just 10 bands invited

The University of Alabama’s Million Dollar Band has been picked to march in the 100th Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade in New York City in 2026.
They were chosen from over 100 applicants as one of just 10 bands invited. This will be the band’s second time in the parade.
Dr. Ken Ozzello, Director of Bands at UA, said, “The University of Alabama Million Dollar Band is deeply honored to be selected to perform in the 100th Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade. To return to one of America’s most iconic holiday traditions is a privilege, and our students are thrilled to represent our university and our state.”
Sara Flores, an associate producer with Macy’s Parade, added, “We are thrilled to have the Million Dollar Band to join in the celebration of the 100th Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade in 2026.” She also said New York City’s parade route will “undoubtedly pulse with energy and excitement brought by the University of Alabama’s phenomenal marching band.”
Each of the 10 bands invited will receive a $10,000 grant from Macy’s. That money is meant to help fund travel, instruments, costumes, and other march-preparation costs.
The Million Dollar Band currently has about 400 members. The total cost for the Band to travel to New York for the parade isn’t known, but significant fundraising efforts can be expected.
