Alabama First Responders Announce Endorsements Ahead of May 19th Election
“Our members wanted candidates who will fight for safer communities, stronger support for emergency personnel, and accountability in government.”
The Alabama First Responders Association announced its official endorsements Thursday for the upcoming May 19 Republican Primary, backing candidates across several statewide and down-ballot races.
The organization, known as ALFRA, represents nearly 5,000 first responders throughout Alabama, including law enforcement officers, firefighters, paramedics, military police, ER nurses, and emergency room physicians.
According to ALFRA Interim President Brett Trimble, the endorsements came following a board meeting and a review of internal polling data and candidate positions.
“The men and women who protect Alabama families every day need leaders who understand service, sacrifice, and public safety,” Trimble said. “After careful discussion and review of these races, our board chose candidates who consistently support first responders, back law enforcement, and stand for the conservative values our members believe in.”
Trimble said the organization focused heavily on public safety issues and support for emergency personnel when making its selections.
“Our members wanted candidates who will fight for safer communities, stronger support for emergency personnel, and accountability in government,” Trimble added. “These endorsements were not made lightly. They were made after reviewing polling, candidate positions, and conversations with our membership across Alabama.”
The association issued endorsements in multiple statewide races, including dual endorsements in the Lt. Governor and Attorney General contests. ALFRA officials said both races showed strong support among members and favorable internal polling numbers.

Founded to advocate for Alabama’s frontline emergency professionals, ALFRA says it remains focused on supporting policies and elected leaders that strengthen public safety and improve conditions for first responders statewide.
