A Call for Prayer and Community Support

We are absolutely heartbroken by the horrific incident that took place on Saturday evening, December 13, 2025, at Brown University in Providence, Rhode Island. Two students were tragically murdered and many more were injured in a campus shooting.

Among those who lost their lives was a beloved member of our Alabama community: Ella Cook, a 19-year-old Brown University sophomore from Mountain Brook. By all accounts, Ella was a special young woman, cherished by her family, her church, and her classmates at Brown.

Angela and I extend our deepest, most heartfelt sympathies. Please join us in turning to God during this painful time. Let us pray for Ella's family, the families of all victims, and the entire Brown University community as they navigate this unimaginable grief.

Pat Bishop SR., J.D.
Major, U.S. Army (Retired)
