Case Dixon has officially qualified for the Republican primary in Alabama’s 6th Congressional District, setting up a challenge to six-term U.S. Rep. Gary Palmer in the May 19, 2026 primary election.

A lifelong conservative and physical therapist assistant from Hueytown, Dixon says he’s driven by concern for the future of his family and the nation’s finances. “I’m running out of necessity,” Dixon told ALPolitics.com. “I truly feel I have no other choice. The birth of my first daughter completely changed everything. She is counting on me to protect her.”

Dixon has campaigned across the District, emphasizing concerns about federal spending, rising debt, and a lack of accountability in Washington. On his campaign website, he lists priorities that include ethics reform, protecting constitutional liberties, and fiscal restraint.

He accuses Palmer of supporting expansive government spending and failing to address inflation and the debt crisis. “No one in Washington right now is taking the debt seriously, including Representative Gary Palmer,” Dixon said. “Right now, we are really robbing the next generation and my generation. It’s generational theft…”

Dixon’s platform also includes term limits for Congress, banning congressional stock trading, and returning power to the people, positions he has outlined in campaign statements and materials.

The challenger has picked up support from conservative groups as well. BamaCarry, a prominent Alabama Second Amendment advocacy organization, endorsed Dixon and praised his defense of gun rights and constitutional liberties. In response, Dixon framed the backing as part of a broader effort to remind Washington where freedoms originate and why they must be preserved.

As Dixon pushes his message of accountability and reform, he continues to engage voters through town halls, public events, and social media outreach. He says his campaign is about “whether we continue accepting a system that benefits Washington first, or demand representation that protects liberty, respects the Constitution, and puts Americans back in control of their lives.”
