MONTGOMERY, Ala. — October 29, 2026 — With Alabama's general election five days away, the Christian Coalition of Alabama (CCA) today called on Christians across the state to pray for Alabama, to vote, and to bring their families, friends and fellow church members with them to the polls on Tuesday, November 3.

On Tuesday, Alabama voters will choose a new governor and lieutenant governor, the state's attorney general and secretary of state, a United States senator, all seven members of Congress, and every seat in the Alabama Senate and House of Representatives.

In Washington, Alabama can send Barry Moore to the United States Senate and Rhett Marques to Congress from the Second District. In Montgomery, voters can elect Tommy Tuberville governor and John Wahl lieutenant governor, the office that presides over the Alabama Senate.

CCA said the decisions further down the ballot matter just as much. The Alabama Senate is led today by President Pro Tempore Garlan Gudger and the House by Speaker Nathaniel Ledbetter. That leadership stays in place only if Alabama returns a Legislature that will keep it there. Seventeen Senate seats and thirty-six House seats are contested on Tuesday, including the seats of Senate Majority Leader Steve Livingston and Speaker Pro Tempore Chris Pringle. Those races will be decided by the people who show up.

Christians cannot leave that decision to others. Staying home is not neutral; it hands the choice to someone else. CCA urged believers to vote for the candidates whose convictions stand closest to biblical principles: the protection of life from conception, religious liberty, the strength of the family, and the safety of Alabama's children.

And CCA asked every church to pray. Scripture calls believers to pray "for kings, and for all that are in authority; that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty" (1 Timothy 2:2). It reminds us as well: "When the righteous are in authority, the people rejoice: but when the wicked beareth rule, the people mourn" (Proverbs 29:2).

“Alabama is at a turning point, and the people of faith in this state will decide which way it turns. We have leaders in Montgomery who have stood for life, for families and for religious liberty, and keeping them there depends on who we send to the Legislature on Tuesday. I am asking every Christian in Alabama to pray, to vote, and to bring someone with them. Do not let anyone else make this choice for you.”

— Dr. Randy Brinson, President, Christian Coalition of Alabama

“I served twenty years in the Alabama House, and I learned that the people who lead the Legislature decide what reaches the floor and what never does. Alabama has leadership today that puts families and faith first, and on Tuesday we can add Tommy Tuberville, John Wahl, Barry Moore and Rhett Marques to it. Keeping it depends on every one of those races. As Reverend Franklin Graham has said, 'Who you choose to vote for has never been more important—get out and vote. As Christians, we are to be salt and light in an ever-decaying, dark world.' Vote, and bring your neighbors with you.”

— Perry O. Hooper Jr., Board Member, Christian Coalition of Alabama, and former State Representative
