Clarke County License Commissioner Linda Goodman Joins the Republican Party
Formally approved to join the GOP at a recent meeting of the Clarke County Republican Executive Committee

From the Alabama Republican Party
Grove Hill, AL – The Alabama Republican Party proudly welcomes Clarke County License Commissioner Linda Goodman as the newest Republican elected official in the state. At a recent meeting of the Clarke County Republican Executive Committee, Goodman was formally approved to join the GOP.
Goodman has faithfully served the people of Clarke County as License Commissioner for 22 years, consistently earning the respect of her constituents for her dedication and professionalism. She told local Republican leaders that the Democrat Party’s values and beliefs have changed dramatically in recent years, moving further and further away from the principles she holds dear.
“Linda has been an excellent License Commissioner and an exceptional public servant,” said Clarke County Republican Party Chairman Summer Padget. “She always goes above and beyond for her constituents, and we are proud to have her as a member of the Republican Party.”
ALGOP Chairman John Wahl praised Goodman’s decision and emphasized the growing divide between the modern Democrat Party and the values of everyday Alabamians.
“The Democrat Party has abandoned traditional, conservative Alabama values and become completely out of touch with working families,” said Wahl. “The Alabama Republican Party will always stand for individual rights and freedoms, parental rights, safe communities, and a prosperous future. I’ve heard wonderful things about Linda’s character and service, and I look forward to meeting her personally and welcoming her to our Republican family.”
With Goodman’s addition, the Republican Party continues to grow its dominance across Alabama. Republicans now hold over 73% of all partisan elected positions at the federal, state, and county levels.
