GOA Endorses Barry Moore in U.S. Senate Runoff
Second Amendment group backs Moore, citing his gun rights record as Alabama's Republican Senate runoff nears
Gun Owners of America (GOA), one of the nation's most prominent gun rights organizations, has endorsed U.S. Representative Barry Moore (R-AL-01) in Alabama's Republican race for the United States Senate.
The endorsement comes as Moore seeks the GOP nomination for Alabama's open Senate seat. The Wiregrass congressman advanced to the Republican runoff earlier this month and has campaigned on his conservative record, including support for Second Amendment protections.
"Gun Owners of America is proud to endorse Barry Moore for the United States Senate because he has consistently stood with law-abiding gun owners and fought back against unconstitutional attacks on the Second Amendment," said Erich Pratt, Senior Vice President of Gun Owners of America. "From opposing Biden-era gun control schemes to defending the rights of Alabama gun owners, Barry Moore has been a reliable voice for the Constitution and our God-given freedoms. Alabama voters can count on him to stand strong against the anti-gun agenda in Washington."
According to the endorsement announcement, GOA cited Moore's record in Congress supporting pro-gun legislation, opposing firearm restrictions he considers unconstitutional, and advocating for policies aimed at protecting gun owners' rights.
Moore welcomed the endorsement and said defending the right to keep and bear arms remains one of his top priorities.
"I'm honored to have the support of Gun Owners of America," said Moore. "The right to keep and bear arms is fundamental to preserving our liberty, and I will never back down from defending it. As a gun owner, I understand that our Second Amendment rights are under attack by many career bureaucrats in Washington. I have always worked to preserve Alabamians' liberty, and I will continue to be a reliable and fearless defender of the Second Amendment as your next United States Senator for Alabama."
The endorsement adds another national conservative organization to Moore's growing list of supporters during the Senate campaign. In recent months, he has also received endorsements from President Donald Trump, Alabama FarmPAC, and Susan B. Anthony Pro-Life America.
Gun Owners of America is a "no-compromise" defender of the Second Amendment and has frequently opposed federal gun control proposals while supporting expanded firearm rights for law-abiding citizens.
