Harris Wins National Eagle Forum PAC Endorsement

Republican congressional candidate Hampton Harris has picked up the endorsement of National Eagle Forum PAC in Alabama's 2nd Congressional District special election, adding another nationally recognized conservative organization to his list of supporters ahead of the Aug. 11 Republican primary.

In announcing the endorsement Friday, Eagle Forum President Kris Ullman praised Harris as a candidate committed to advancing the organization's priorities on life, limited government, and family values.

"Hampton Harris is a true conservative candidate who has committed to defend all people – born and unborn – in Congress," Ullman said. "He understands that Alabamians want to be free from over-regulation by the Washington, D.C. bureaucracy. He will fight to lower taxes, support our veterans, put America first, and preserve the nuclear family."

Eagle Forum PAC also highlighted Harris' positions on several key issues in its endorsement.

"From protecting our borders and Second Amendment rights to standing up for babies and their families, Hampton Harris will work tirelessly to support the voters in his district."

The endorsement comes as Republicans compete to succeed the incumbent Democratic representative from Alabama's 2nd Congressional District, Shomari Figures, in a special election ordered after the State's congressional maps were redrawn. The Republican primary is scheduled for Aug. 11.

Harris, a Montgomery native, said he is grateful for the organization's support and shares its commitment to defending life, liberty and what he described as traditional American values.

Harris was homeschooled alongside his siblings with an emphasis on Christian and constitutional principles before earning his degree from Auburn University at Montgomery. He later attended Samford University's Cumberland School of Law, where he served as President of the Christian Legal Society.

Harris now owns and operates a real estate law practice within the 2nd Congressional District. That experience has given him first hand insight into the effects of taxes, inflation and federal regulations on small businesses and working families.

Before Alabama's Congressional District lines were redrawn, Harris was the only Republican candidate to challenge Democrat Shomari Figures for the seat under the previous map.

Founded by conservative activist Phyllis Schlafly, Eagle Forum advocates for limited government, constitutional principles, pro-life policies, religious liberty and traditional family values. Its political action committee endorses candidates it believes will advance those priorities in federal and State office.
