John Wahl Re-Elected to Third Term as Alabama Republican Party Chairman
“This re-election is a testament to the strength of our party and the hard work we’ve put into building a unified, successful platform for our state.” - Chairman Wahl

John Wahl has been re-elected to a third term as Chairman of the Alabama Republican Party during the 2025 Winter Executive Committee meeting at the Hyatt Hotel in Hoover. His re-election reflects continued support from party leadership as Alabama Republicans prepare for upcoming election cycles.
“I am honored and humbled to have the support of our State Executive Committee in Alabama,” Wahl said. “This re-election is a testament to the strength of our party and the hard work we’ve put into building a unified, successful platform for our state.”
Under Wahl’s leadership, the Alabama Republican Party has expanded its influence, flipping 90 seats statewide and raising over $7.5 million to support GOP candidates. The party has also played a role on the national stage, hosting major presidential candidates and a Republican debate.
Wahl has emphasized outreach efforts, particularly among young voters and minority communities, helping the party secure four seats in majority-minority districts. He has also served as RNC Vice Chairman for the Southern Region since January, positioning Alabama as a key player in broader conservative efforts.
As the 2026 elections approach, Wahl said he remains focused on strengthening the party’s grassroots movement and advocating for conservative values. “The upcoming elections will be a pivotal moment for our state and our nation,” he said. “Together, we will continue to fight for limited government, individual liberty, and the Constitution.”
Beyond politics, Wahl serves as Chairman of the Alabama Public Library Service board and is known for his work as a professional butterfly farmer. His leadership in the Alabama GOP will continue to shape the state’s political landscape as the party prepares for future elections.
