Matt Gentry Secures Alabama Farmers Federation Endorsement in PSC Race
“I’m honored to have the endorsement of Alabama FarmPAC,” Gentry said. “My grandfather was a farmer, and growing up around agriculture taught me the values of hard work, faith, and service." - Sheriff Matt Gentry

Cullman County Sheriff Matt Gentry has picked up a major endorsement in his campaign for the Alabama Public Service Commission. Alabama FarmPAC, the political action committee of the Alabama Farmers Federation, announced its support for Gentry this week.
The endorsement is a significant boost for Gentry, whose background is deeply rooted in agriculture. His grandfather farmed in Cullman County, and Gentry often points to those early lessons as shaping his values and work ethic.
“I’m honored to have the endorsement of Alabama FarmPAC,” Gentry said. “My grandfather was a farmer, and growing up around agriculture taught me the values of hard work, faith, and service—values I’ve carried with me as Sheriff and will carry forward as Public Service Commissioner.”
Gentry also extended thanks to farmers statewide, crediting them with sustaining Alabama families and communities. “I want to thank every farmer across this state. You feed our families, support our communities, and keep Alabama strong. Just as I’ve done as Sheriff, I will continue to fight for you and protect the ratepayers of this state,” he said.
The Alabama Public Service Commission regulates electric, gas, and water utilities across the state. Gentry’s campaign has emphasized keeping energy affordable, promoting conservative principles, and ensuring government accountability.
Gentry has served as Cullman County Sheriff for the past eleven years, where he has built a record focused on transparency and accessibility. His bid for the Public Service Commission has gained momentum in recent months, drawing support from across rural Alabama.
