From the Karlapalem campaign

June 16

“That is not public service. That is pay to play. While families in State House District 4 struggle to afford groceries, utilities, healthcare, and housing, Parker Moore’s campaign war chest is growing on special interest money from banking, healthcare, tobacco, sports betting, gaming, real estate, and energy,” Karlapalem said.

MADISON, Alabama - Alabama campaign finance records filed with the Alabama Fair Campaign Practices Act (FCPA) on June 16, 2026, show that North Alabama PAC, a Huntsville-based political action committee that contributed $2,500 to State Rep. Parker Moore (R-HD4) in May 2026, received a single contribution of $106,435 from I-359 Inc. of Tuscaloosa on June 15, 2026, bringing the PAC’s total war chest to $298,335.78.

But the full picture is even more striking. According to Transparency USA, which tracks Alabama campaign finance data, North Alabama PAC had collected at least $1,202,500 in total contributions during the 2026 election cycle as of March 31, 2026 before the June 15 deposit of $106,435 pushed the total even higher. Its single largest donor is the Sports Betting Alliance at $310,000 a national advocacy organization composed of FanDuel, DraftKings, BetMGM, Bet365, and Fanatics, which has pumped $2.3 million into Alabama political action committees in an effort to legalize sports betting in a state where it remains illegal. Other major contributors to North Alabama PAC include Viva Health Administration LLC ($100,000), Blue Cross Blue Shield of Alabama ($50,000), Poarch Creek Indian PAC ($50,000), and multiple real estate development companies.

I-359 Inc., which shares a mailing address of PO Box 20828, Tuscaloosa, AL 35402 with Pate Holdings, a privately owned real estate development and investment company has contributed $14,400 to North Alabama PAC in the 2026 cycle. Luther S. Pate IV, an individual connected to the same Tuscaloosa real estate interests, has personally contributed $140,000 to North Alabama PAC in the same cycle.

North Alabama PAC is registered at 116 Jefferson Street, Suite 300, Huntsville, AL 35801 (FCPA Committee ID: 26405, registered November 17, 2011), chaired by Steve Raby. The PAC’s stated purpose is “Support organization and candidates that promote economic development.”

Public records show Rep. Parker Moore has received $79,500 from 48 special interest contributors between June 2025 and May 2026. Contributors span nearly every industry that directly affects the cost of living in District 4: energy and utilities, agriculture, grocery and retail, healthcare, education, banking, financial services, road builders, construction, legal and lobbying, oil and gas, telecom, auto dealers, trucking, tobacco, gaming, real estate, defense and manufacturing, insurance, and Big Pharma.

“My campaign donations have come from individual donors such as friends and family,” Karlapalem said. “Alabama voters deserve to know who is funding the politicians who represent them. North Alabama PAC received $106,435 from a Tuscaloosa real estate developer on June 15 one day before their own FCPA filing made it public record. And according to Transparency USA, that same PAC received $310,000 from the Sports Betting Alliance an out-of-state organization in this election cycle alone. That is not an abstraction. It is a documented fact.” Karlapalem said.

During this same period, Parker Moore held zero town halls, left seven months of constituent emails unanswered, and refused three debate challenges across Morgan, Limestone, and Madison counties.

“Whose interests does Rep. Parker Moore plan to serve if re-elected? A Tuscaloosa real estate developer. An out-of-state sports betting organization. The banking industry. The healthcare industry. District 4 voters deserve a straight answer.” Karlapalem said.
