NAGR PAC Endorses Hudson in U.S. Senate Runoff

The National Association for Gun Rights PAC (NAGR PAC) has endorsed Republican U.S. Senate candidate Jared Hudson in advance of Alabama’s June 16 Republican primary runoff.

Hudson, a former Navy SEAL and law enforcement officer, will face Barry Moore for the Republican nomination to succeed Tommy Tuberville, who is leaving the Senate seat to run for Governor. Hudson and Moore advanced to the runoff after finishing as the top two vote-getters in the May 19 Republican primary. Moore placed first with 39% of the primary vote, while Hudson edged out Alabama Attorney General Steve Marshall, 25% to 24%, to secure his place in the runoff.

In announcing the endorsement Monday, NAGR PAC President Dudley Brown said the organization believes Hudson would provide strong leadership on Second Amendment issues in Washington.

“Alabama is deep red, and gun owners here should not be asked to settle for ‘good enough,’” Brown said. “This is a State that should be sending champions to Washington, not politicians who wait for someone else to cut the trail and then claim credit for walking it.”

Brown said the endorsement reflects the group's view that Hudson would bring what he described as “aggressive, unapologetic pro-gun leadership” to the U.S. Senate.

“Jared understands the Second Amendment is not a slogan, a campaign prop or a box to check on a voter guide,” Brown said. “It is a God-given right that must be defended without apology. That is exactly the kind of fighter Alabama gun owners need in Washington.”

Hudson welcomed the endorsement in a campaign video posted to social media.

“This is an unbelievable honor. I want to thank the National Association for Gun Rights PAC for endorsing our campaign for the United States Senate,” Hudson said. “The Second Amendment doesn’t need quiet supporters. It needs real fighters.”

According to NAGR PAC, Hudson pledged a 100 percent pro-gun record on the organization's candidate questionnaire and has made defense of the Second Amendment a central part of his Senate campaign.

The endorsement comes as the Republican runoff campaign enters its final weeks. Moore, a three-term congressman, entered the runoff with the endorsement of President Donald Trump, while Hudson has campaigned as a political outsider and former military operator.

Brown argued that Alabama voters should expect more from their elected officials than support for gun rights when political pressure is low.

“Every election season, Republicans talk about the Second Amendment,” Brown said. “But talk is cheap. Gun owners are tired of politicians who roar during campaign season and whisper when it’s time to fight. Jared has made it clear he is ready to take the fight directly to the gun control lobby, the federal bureaucracy, and the D.C. Swamp, who are always looking for a way to cut a deal.”

He closed by urging Alabama gun owners to support candidates willing to take a leadership role on firearms issues.

“In a State like Alabama, the question is not whether a candidate can vote right when the pressure is off,” Brown said. “The question is whether he will lead when the pressure is on. Jared Hudson is the pro-gun champion in this race, and NAGR PAC is proud to stand with him.”

The National Association for Gun Rights Political Action Committee is the affiliated PAC of the National Association for Gun Rights, one ofthe nation’s largest and most aggressive pro-gun organizations. Through strategic political engagement, NAGR PAC is committed to electing candidates who stand unapologetically for the Second Amendment and defeating those who betray it. Backed by more than4.5 million members and supporters, NAGR PAC fights to ensure gun owners have a powerful voice at the ballot box.
