North Jefferson Republican Patriots to Meet Nov 20 in Gardendale
Derek Chin, Judge Matt Fridy to speak
The North Jefferson Republican Patriots will be having their monthly meeting this Thursday, November 20, 2025 at the Gardendale Civic Center in Gardendale, Alabama.
The meeting will begin at 6:30 PM CST, and the public is invited to socialize with the group beginning at 6:00 PM.
Featured speakers will be State Auditor candidate Derek Chen and candidate (incumbent) for Court of Civil Appeals Judge Matt Fridy.
Derek Chen received his undergraduate degree from Hope College, a small Christian college in Michigan, before receiving a law degree from Cumberland School of Law and his MBA from the University of Alabama. Derek is a Vestavia Hills resident, and practiced law in Jefferson County. Derek has been a longtime supporter of President Trump and his America First agenda. He was an early supporter of President Trump's 2016 Presidential bid and has remained a staunch supporter ever since. Derek was born in the United States to legal immigrants from Taiwan. Derek's family immigrated to the United States to escape the threat posed by Communist China. Derek's background gives him a unique perspective on the importance of being a responsible citizen and standing up against government overreach.
Judge Matt Fridy serves on the Alabama Court of Civil Appeals and previously represented House District 73 in the Alabama Legislature. Before joining the bench, he practiced appellate and constitutional law and chaired the House Constitution, Campaigns & Elections Committee. Judge Fridy is a consistent conservative voice focused on limited government, protecting constitutional liberties, and promoting pro-family values. He lives in Pelham with his wife, Kimberly, and their five children.
The meeting is free and open to the public, and no pre-registration is required.
