Rick Pate is launching his first television ad in the 2026 race for Lieutenant Governor, offering voters a familiar message rooted in agriculture, business experience, and protecting Alabama’s farmland.

The 30-second spot introduces Pate in his own words, tying his personal story to the policy positions he has emphasized since launching his campaign earlier this year.

"I'm Rick Pate. I learned my values growing up on our family's farm. Traditional values like hard work, integrity, honesty still mean something to me."

The ad leans heavily on Pate’s tenure as Alabama’s Commissioner of Agriculture and Industries, a role he has held since 2018. During that time, he has positioned himself as a defender of the state’s farming community and rural economy.

"As Ag Commissioner, I've worked hard to make sure your food was fresh, healthy and local. Developers want to turn land like this into data centers and solar panels — I'll put a stop to that."

That line signals a clear campaign theme. Pate has raised concerns about the rapid expansion of large-scale industrial projects, including data centers and solar developments, on agricultural land. The issue has gained traction in parts of rural Alabama, where farmers and local leaders have debated how best to balance growth with preservation.

Before entering public office, Pate spent decades in the private sector, operating a successful landscaping and irrigation business. His campaign continues to draw a contrast between that background and what he frames as career politicians.

"I ran a successful business for 37 years. I'm not a career politician. I'm a problem solver."

The ad closes with a direct appeal ahead of the state’s primary election.

"On May 19, I'm asking you to vote Rick Pate for Lieutenant Governor."

Pate formally entered the race in June of last year, and has since worked to build name recognition beyond his base in agriculture. His campaign has focused on conservative values, economic development, and protecting Alabama farmland from overreach by outside interests.
