President Trump weighs in on Biden Autopen scandal
“Who was signing all this stuff by AutoPen?”

President Donald J. Trump used a reporter’s question about “Will anything change?” with NATO to weigh in on the growing Biden autopen scandal.
During Thursday’s Oval Office meeting with NATO leader Mark Rutte, the President said (at 33:44):
“The man was grossly incompetent. The man was grossly confident. All you have to do is look and take a look at, he signs by auto pin. Who is signing all the stuff by autopen? Who would, who would think you signed important documents by autopen?
‘You know, these are major documents you’re signing. You’re proud to sign them. You have your signature on something. And 300 years they say, oh look. Can you imagine? Everything was signed by autopen, almost everything. Nobody’s ever heard of such a thing. Or should have never happened.”
The President was responding to a series of reports by the Heritage Foundation’s Oversight Project alleging that a large number of the signatures “signed” by President Biden were actually mechanically signed. Beginning on March 6, the Oversight Project examined a large number of documents bearing Biden’s signature and found them to be virtually identical, as one would expect from an AutoPen.
These questionable signatures were on the pardons for the Biden family, General Milley, Dr. Fauci and the J6 Commission and staff on January 19th—Biden’s last full day in office.
The Oversight Project also reported similar findings on several pardons signed in December, 2022. The documents say they were signed in the City of Washington, but the former President was on vacation in the U.S. Virgin Islands at that time.
Autopens have been used for years for Christmas cards and other informal documents, but it’s generally accepted that major Executive Acts like bills, pardons and Executive Orders receive an actual “wet” (personal) signature by the President.
These signatures have not only raised questions as to the validity of the acts, but also resurrected questions about Biden’s competency while in office. As one commentator put it, “Who was the President?”
Missouri Attorney General Andrew Bailey wrote to the Department of Justice Inspector General on March 4, 2025 to request “a full investigation into President Biden’s mental capacity and his final days in office.” With there being significant evidence that the White House staff actively concealed his cognitive decline, very real questions are now being raised as to just who was actually in charge during the later days of the Biden administration.
