Sewell Releases 2025 Year in Review
Rep. Terri Sewell (D-AL7) has released her yearly summatio, and a questionnaire for her constituents about priorities in 2026

Since coming to Congress, I've made it my mission to deliver more resources and better opportunities to the people of Alabama's 7th Congressional District. As 2025 comes to a close, I'm reflecting on the progress we've made and the obstacles we've overcome this year.
It is in that spirit that I'm excited to share our annual report: 2025 in Review.
2025 was a year of new challenges and hard-fought victories. Working together, we secured new investments in our district, commemorated the 60th anniversary of Bloody Sunday, and stood up for families, farmers, veterans, seniors, and small businesses.
We pushed back against cuts to health care and food assistance, fought to lower costs and rein in President Trump’s harmful tariffs, and defended our civil rights history against new attacks. Through it all, I was proud to stand side-by-side with Alabama’s working families and be your voice in Congress.
Despite the dysfunction in Washington, my team and I remained laser-focused on delivering for you. Once again, I traveled to every county in Alabama’s 7th District, hosting 98 events including community conversations, tours, roundtables, and our 14th annual job fair. My office secured $398 million in federal grants for our district including $25 million to improve public transit in Jefferson County, $5.8 million for disaster relief in the Black Belt, and $3.2 million in the FY26 federal budget for four local projects.
We replied to more than 30,000 constituent letters and emails, completed 525 casework files, and returned more than $1.7 million in benefits owed to our constituents by the federal government.
