Third Annual Voices of Freedom Dinner to be July 23
Republican Women of Trussville will host the event, with the theme “Standing Against Human Trafficking”
The Republican Women of Trussville will once again host their Third Annual Voices of Freedom Dinner to raise awareness about the prevalence and cost of human trafficking.
This year’s dinner will be on Thursday, July 23 at the Trussville Civic Center, 5381 Trussville Clay Road, Trussville.
Doors will open at 5:00 PM, with dinner beginning at 6:00 PM. Catering will be provided by Full Moon BBQ.
Tickets are $60/person, and may be ordered by email at:
or by calling Kathy Steck at 205.218.5958.
The Keynote Address will be delivered by Jennifer Guskin, an Epstein Island survivor and outspoken advocate for victims of abuse and trafficking. Guskin's appearance is especially significant because of the personal cost she has paid for speaking publicly about her experiences.
Guskin spent five years fighting to regain custody of her daughter before the child was returned to her after being medically kidnapped. Rather than stepping away from public life, she has become even more committed to helping other victims find justice.
Since then, Guskin has taken her message directly to lawmakers on Capitol Hill, meeting with members of Congress to raise awareness about trafficking, child exploitation, and the treatment of victims.
The evening will also feature Sgt. Laura Grantham and her electronic detection K9, Estie. The pair work to locate hidden electronic devices used by child predators, helping law enforcement uncover evidence in cases involving child exploitation and trafficking.
Returning to the event is the Covenant Rescue Group, founded by former Navy SEAL Jared Hudson. The Alabama-based nonprofit partners with law enforcement agencies to combat human trafficking and child exploitation through training, operational support, rescue efforts, and victim advocacy.
Also scheduled to speak is EmmaSara McMillion, host of Ignite TV and founder of the Mother of Change Foundation. McMillion is a mother who has turned her passion for protecting children into a mission to educate families and raise awareness about online predators and exploitation.
Author and radio host Ali Elizabeth Turner will also address attendees. Turner works with the Pure Hope Foundation, a ministry dedicated to helping restore and support women who have survived human trafficking.
Special music will be provided by Donna Johnson and Angel LaPoint. There will be a silent auction concurrently with the meeting.
