Time to Ruffle Some Feathers — Timeout with Tuberville

From the office of Senator Tommy Tuberville

Coach Tuberville here…

I’ve been proud to represent Alabama in the United States Senate over the past five and a half years. Unfortunately, something I’ve noticed during my time in D.C. is that the swamp seems much more interested in preserving their own power than doing what’s right for the American people. In fact, too many politicians go on TV and say the right things, but behind the curtain, all they really care about is getting re-elected. Well, that’s not why the people of Alabama sent me to D.C. back in 2020 — I don’t give a rip what the Washington elites think about me, and I am not afraid to ruffle some feathers to get something done.

Let’s take, for example, the recent debate surrounding the SAVE America Act. This commonsense legislation, which has already passed the U.S. House of Representatives, would require photo ID to vote. This is an idea that 83% of Americans support, including 71% of Democrats. So, why isn’t it the law of the land? Because Senate Democrats are more concerned with appeasing the far-left wing of their party than supporting policies that their own constituents want.

Now is not the time to bend the knee to outdated Senate traditions. It’s time we ruffle some feathers and abolish the filibuster. We already know Democrats will do it the moment they take back the majority in the Senate. While we still can, let’s use this opportunity to deliver the MAGA agenda. The American people are counting on it.

God Bless,

Tuberville Introduces Bill to Prevent Illegals from Receiving Federal Student Loans

Recently, Coach Tuberville introduced the FAFSA Verification Act, which ensures the Department of Education has clear authority to verify the identities of everyone who applies for federal student loans through the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). The legislation specifically ensures that all federal loan applicants complete background checks, provide Social Security numbers, and are American citizens. The House companion to this legislation recently passed out of the House Committee on Education and the Workforce.

“As we’ve seen over the past few months in Minnesota, illegals have been treating American taxpayers like their personal ATMs,” Sen. Tuberville said. “Federal education loans should go to Americans, not illegals. This is just common sense. I look forward to working with my colleagues to eradicate fraud in federal student loans and to put American students first.”

“The Muslim Brotherhood is against everything this country stands for,” said Sen. Designating this evil group as a terrorist organization is a great step towards eradicating Islamic extremism from our country.”
