Keith O. Williams, co-founder of the Voters Legal Justice Watch Group and independent candidate for Alabama House District 55, announced he is developing legislation — the PROTECT Act — that would create State-wide standards for data centers while ensuring balance, common sense and transparency.

“This is the foundation of a State legislative proposal to create a statewide law to regulate data centers. Local ordinances cannot have a standards lower than the state. So I will make the standards very high and clear,” Williams said.

The formal language of the PROTECT Act is still being finalized, but Williams provided ALPolitics.com with an infographic which outlines the basic points of the Act:
