Ainsworth Endorses Moore in Senate Runoff

Alabama Lieutenant Governor Will Ainsworth has endorsed U.S. Representative Barry Moore in the Republican runoff for the U.S. Senate, giving Moore another major boost as the June 16 election approaches.

Ainsworth announced his support Tuesday, praising Moore’s conservative record and his alignment with President Donald Trump’s agenda.

“Barry Moore is the conservative fighter Alabama needs in the United States Senate to carry on Coach Tuberville’s legacy,” Ainsworth said. “Barry stands tall for his Christian faith, and he has consistently given Washington, D.C., a good dose of our conservative Alabama values.

“A true outsider who fights to lower our taxes, Barry has stood with President Trump to drain the Swamp since day one. I served alongside Barry in the Alabama House and witnessed firsthand his determination to take on the establishment, roll back regulatory overreach, and return everyday common sense to the way our government operates.

“I’m proud to endorse Barry Moore for U.S. Senate because I know he’ll continue to always put Alabama and our nation’s interests first,” Ainsworth concluded.

The endorsement carries added weight because Ainsworth and Moore served together in the Alabama House of Representatives from 2014 — 2018.

Moore welcomed the endorsement and pointed to the common ground he shares with the lieutenant governor.

“Like Lt. Governor Ainsworth, I’ve spent my career fighting for Alabama’s conservative values, standing with President Donald J. Trump, and putting Alabama first,” Moore said. “I’m grateful for Will’s support and look forward to continuing that fight in the United States Senate.”

The endorsement comes as Moore continues to build support from prominent Republican leaders and conservative organizations. His campaign has highlighted endorsements from President Donald Trump, Vice President J.D. Vance, U.S. Rep. Jim Jordan, the Senate Conservatives Fund, and the National Rifle Association Political Victory Fund. Moore has also recently secured backing from agricultural and forestry organizations with deep ties to Alabama’s rural communities.

Moore, a third-term congressman from Enterprise and former member of the Alabama House, finished first in the Republican primary with 39.18% of the vote, advancing to a runoff against former Navy SEAL Jared Hudson, who received 25.63%. The winner of the June 16 runoff will become the Republican nominee for the Senate seat being vacated by U.S. Sen. Tommy Tuberville, who is running for Governor.

Throughout the campaign, Moore has emphasized his support for Trump, his membership in the House Freedom Caucus, and his record of fighting federal overreach, lowering taxes, and defending constitutional rights. He has consistently touted his experience in both Montgomery and Washington that has prepared him to continue advancing conservative priorities in the Senate.

With early voting underway and Election Day less than two weeks away, Ainsworth’s endorsement adds another familiar Alabama Republican voice to Moore’s growing coalition as the runoff enters its final stretch.
