BREAKING: Jared Hudson's Federal Ethics Complaint
U.S. Senate candidate Jared Hudson is under fire for campaign finance violations and questions surrounding the financials of his non-profit.

On this weeks episode of “Angela’s Sweet Tea and Politics” podcast on Spotify, we tackled one of the most controversial conversations yet surrounding the Alabama U.S. Senate race — and specifically the growing questions being raised by candidate for US Senate for Alabama Dr. Dale Deas about fellow Republican candidate Jared Hudson. With the primary just days away, voters deserve transparency, accountability, and honest answers, especially when faith, patriotism, military service, and nonprofit fundraising are being used as part of a political image.

Now let me be very clear: these are allegations and concerns raised by Dr. Deas during the podcast, but when someone is running for the United States Senate, the public has every right to hear those concerns and decide for themselves.

Dr. Deas spent much of the interview outlining what he described as troubling financial and ethical questions surrounding Jared Hudson and Covenant Rescue Group, the nonprofit Hudson founded. According to Dr. Deas, IRS Form 990 filings showed the organization operated with a deficit of roughly around $92,000 while Jared Hudson reportedly received a salary increase, bringing his compensation to approximately $127,000. Dr. Deas argued that the nonprofit’s payroll structure and governance raised red flags, particularly because Hudson’s wife was listed as having a leadership role connected to approving executive compensation.

Dr. Deas repeatedly emphasized that his concern was not simply about legality, but ethics and accountability. As discussed on the show, using God, military service, and patriotism to build public trust in order to raise Campaign fundsmeans holding yourself to a higher standard — not a lower one. The military is built on honor, sacrifice, and integrity. Faith is supposed to represent humility, honesty, and service to others. According to Dr. Deas, the concern is whether those values are being used more as political branding than lived principles, and he brought receipts!!

Another major topic discussed on “Angela’s Sweet Tea and Politics” involved campaign finance questions. Dr. Deas referenced an FEC complaint he says he filed regarding campaign contributions connected to Jared Hudson’s Senate campaign. He alleged there were suspicious donation structures and raised concerns about whether campaign-related funds could potentially intersect with nonprofit operations. Importantly, Dr. Deas acknowledged during the interview that he was presenting concerns and documentation for further investigation.

The conversation also turned toward Covenant Rescue Group’s operational claims and outcomes. Dr. Deas questioned reports surrounding trafficking-related arrests and convictions connected to the organization’s activities. According to Dr. Deas, there were concerns about how operations were conducted and whether certain tactics may have complicated prosecutions. He reported around 1000 arrest over four to five years but only around two reported convictions.  He also made allegations that Jared Hudson’s investigations seem to lead to possible obstruction issues in getting those convictions.  These claims were presented as allegations and criticisms made by Dr. Deas during the interview as he accuses Hudson of out right scamming the people of Alabama.

What stood out most during this podcast was not just the accusations themselves, but the broader issue they raise. Americans are exhausted by public figures who wrap themselves in religion, law enforcement imagery, military credentials, and emotional messaging while refusing transparency when difficult questions arise. If Jared Hudson wants to represent Alabama in the United States Senate, voters have a right to examine every part of the public record being discussed by Dr. Deas. Scrutiny is part of leadership, and no candidate — whether it’s Jared Hudson, Dr. Deas, or anyone else — should be above hard questions.

This show was never about personal destruction. It was about accountability. As I said in the opening monologue, leadership grounded in real integrity welcomes transparency instead of hiding from it. The people of Alabama deserve honesty, especially from candidates asking for power, influence, and public trust.

That’s what this show is about. Truth. Transparency. And giving the people the information they deserve before they cast their vote.

Republican Primary is May 19th
