Clint Hollingsworth officially announced his candidacy for Alabama House of Representatives District 12 on Monday, entering the race with a message of conservative values and a promise to champion the needs of Cullman County.

“I am running for the Alabama House of Representatives because I believe our community deserves an experienced leader who will fight to get us a seat at the table,” Hollingsworth said in a public statement. “I am excited about the opportunity to make a difference in Cullman County and will do this through teamwork, open communication, transparency, and building consensus. I'm ready to get to work and fight for District 12.”

Hollingsworth brings with him a background in small business ownership and local leadership. He currently owns D1 Motor Cars, a dealership known for specializing in rare and hard-to-find vehicles. Prior to that, he managed College Tire in Hanceville. His personal experience navigating the challenges of running a small business and raising a family has shaped his political platform.

“As a small business owner, I understand the challenges our families and businesses face,” he said. “I know what it's like to juggle family and work while worrying about making ends meet. I'm running for State Representative to ensure that our district has a strong, conservative voice in the legislature and that we work to create solutions to improve the lives of all Cullman County residents.”

A graduate of Cullman High School, Hollingsworth attended Wallace State Community College and earned a bachelor’s degree from Athens State University. He and his wife, Leslie (York), are raising a family of five children—one of whom passed away—and are expecting their first grandchild this month. The couple remains active in their local congregation at Grace Chapel.

If elected, Hollingsworth said he will take a thoughtful, issue-driven approach to lawmaking, grounded in conservative values and community engagement.

“I commit to serve the people of Cullman County with integrity and be a strong conservative voice in Montgomery,” he said. “I care deeply for this community and will always put the needs of my constituents first.”

The Special Republican Primary Election for House District 12 is set for July 15, 2025.
