Huntsville, AL – Doug Jones is teaming up with former Georgia House Minority Leader Stacey Abrams for a free, public “Rally for Alabama” in Huntsville on Sunday, October 11. The rally takes place one week before Alabama’s October 19 voter registration deadline.
Abrams founded the New Georgia Project in 2013 and Fair Fight in 2018, and has gained national attention for her work registering and organizing voters across the South.
“I’m excited to have Stacey Abrams joining us. For more than a decade, Stacey built something in Georgia that a lot of people said couldn’t be done. She got folks organized, got them registered, and turned a state everybody had written off into one of the most competitive in the country,” Jones said. “We’re seeing some of that same energy here in Alabama. People are paying attention, and on November 3, we are going to send a loud message when we win this.”
The Rally for Alabama series kicked off in Mobile, where more than 1,500 people turned out to hear Jones and Grammy Award-winner Jason Isbell, and continues Thursday in Birmingham with Chevy 6.
The rally begins at 3 p.m. at Mars Music Hall, 700 Monroe St. SW, Huntsville, AL 35801. The event is free and open to the public.
