Ford Re-Elected Gadsden Mayor on Tuesday
City Council Dist 1 race undecided at press time
Craig Ford has been re-elected as Gadsden Mayor with approximately 68% of the vote in Tuesday’s municipal elections.
The Gadsden City Council District 1 election was too close to call as of the time of this writing. Three candidates had very similar vote totals: Tonia Lynn Latham (271 votes), Lamont Kyle (259 votes) and Brandon Bowtie Hall (254 votes). Pending a likely recount and final certification, no clear winner of this contest was reported Tuesday evening.
For City Council District 3, Larry J. Avery received over 63% of votes cast.
In Council District 5, Linda Riggs Aaron topped a field of four with 56% of the vote.
For Council District 6, Renay Stokes Reeves received slightly more than 60% of votes cast.
In Council District 7, Chris Robinson received 74% of the vote.
In the Gadsden Board of Education races, Adrienne Reed received over 68% of the votes in District 1, with Mike Haney receiving over 65% of the vote in District 4.
