HBAA Backs Barry Moore for U.S. Senate
Alabama home builders endorse Barry Moore, praising his support for small business and lower housing costs
The Home Builders Association of Alabama (HBAA) has endorsed Congressman Barry Moore in Alabama’s Republican race for the United States Senate, adding another business group to the growing list of organizations backing the Coffee County Republican.
The endorsement was announced Thursday in a release from Moore’s Senate campaign. The Association cited Moore’s support for Alabama builders, small businesses, and pro-growth economic policy.
“Barry Moore is a proven leader with roots in the homebuilding industry,” said Jim Matthews, First Vice President of the Home Builders Association of Alabama. “We feel confident in his abilities to serve our state and our small businesses.”

Moore, who represents Alabama’s First Congressional District, has made reducing federal rules and cutting business costs a central part of his Senate campaign. His campaign said Moore has worked in Congress to push back against federal regulations that drive up construction and housing costs.
“I’m honored to have the support of the Home Builders Association of Alabama,” said Moore. “Alabama’s builders play a critical role in driving our economy and helping families achieve the dream of homeownership. In the Senate, I’ll keep fighting to cut red tape, lower costs, and ensure our builders have the freedom to do what they do best - build and grow our communities. We need to get Washington out of the way so Alabama can keep building.”
Moore has continued to collect endorsements during the Senate race, including support from President Donald Trump and several national and State conservative groups. Recently, Moore has also received the endorsement of Alabama FarmPAC, the grassroots political action committee of the Alabama Farmer’s Federation (ALFA).
Moore entered the Senate race after Senator Tommy Tuberville announced he would run for Governor rather than seek re-election to the Senate seat. He has campaigned as a strong Trump ally and member of the conservative House Freedom Caucus.
The Alabama Republican Senate runoff is scheduled for June 16.
