As I walk through neighborhoods, attend community meetings, visit local events, and speak with residents throughout Alabama House District 55, one word continues to come up over and over again.

Affordability.

People aren't just talking about politics.

They're talking about paying the light bill.

They're talking about the cost of groceries.

They're talking about filling up their gas tank.

They're talking about housing costs.

They're talking about trying to make it to the next paycheck.

Those conversations aren't taking place in a vacuum.

They're taking place around kitchen tables, at church, in neighborhood meetings, at community events, and in checkout lines across Alabama.

The truth is, I understand those conversations because I'm not only a candidate for Alabama House District 55.

I'm also a constituent.

Like many Alabamians, I understand what it means to watch prices continue to rise while trying to make responsible financial decisions.

I know what it's like to look at a grocery receipt and realize your money doesn't go as far as it used to.

I understand why utility bills are a source of concern.

I understand why families worry about housing costs, transportation expenses, and the overall cost of living.

This isn't something I read in a report.

It's something I hear from people almost every day.

It's something I experience myself.

That's one of the reasons affordability has become the central focus of my campaign.

Not because it's politically convenient.

Because it's personally relevant.

Too often, we treat affordability as if it's one issue among many.

I see it differently.

Affordability isn't one issue. It's the thread that connects many of the challenges Alabama families face every day.

When grocery prices increase, families feel it.

When utility rates rise, families feel it.

When housing becomes more expensive, families feel it.

When transportation costs increase, families feel it.

When healthcare becomes less affordable, families feel it.

These aren't isolated issues.

They're connected.

That's why every policy discussion should begin with one simple question:

Will this improve the everyday lives of Alabama families?

If the answer is no, then we should ask whether we're addressing the right priorities.

As your Independent Write-In candidate for Alabama House District 55, I've committed myself to being open, accessible, engaged, and accountable.

I believe constituents should always know where I stand.

I believe leadership requires more than showing up during election season.

It requires listening, educating, and advocating throughout the year.

I also believe leadership should balance results with relationships.

Passing legislation matters.

Securing resources matters.

But so does listening to people before decisions are made.

The best ideas often come from the people living with these challenges every day.

Over the next several weeks, I'll continue meeting with residents, attending community events, and discussing affordability—not as a political slogan, but as an everyday reality affecting families throughout Alabama.

Because at the end of the day, this campaign isn't about me.

It's about the people I hope to represent.

It's about helping families keep more of what they earn.

It's about making everyday life a little more affordable.

And it's about ensuring that every constituent knows they have someone willing to listen, to stand up, and to advocate on their behalf.

Affordability isn't just the focus of my campaign.

It's the reality of everyday life for countless Alabama families.

That's why the conversation must continue.

And that's why I'll continue having it.
