Log Cabin Republicans Host Birmingham Meet & Greet
Huntsville group hopes to expand across the State to promote conservative values
The Log Cabin Republicans of Huntsville hosted a Social and Meet & Greet last Thursday evening at Culinary Dropout Birmingham at The Summit.
A dozen people gathered for the event, which the Huntsville members in attendance said was twice what their first organizational meeting had two years ago.
Now, the Huntsville chapter regularly vies for the second- or third-most active chapter nationally with Los Angeles, while New York is the most active, members related.
Huntsville chapter President Andy Blalock spoke briefly about the groups activities, including their work supporting Republican candidates in the Huntsville/Madison County area.
“Two years ago LCR Huntsville hosted its first social with only 6 people attending. Just two years later we have over 52 paying members and over 500 subscribers to the emails,” Blalock said.
“Tonight LCR Huntsville branched out to Birmingham Al where the social included an attendance of 12 people — exactly double of Huntsville's first social.
“We are excited to see how Log Cabin Republicans grow in Birmingham and we hope to expand to Montgomery, Mobile and even Tuscaloosa in the future. LCR HSV has proven that conservative minds and common sense can include everyone under the Republican umbrella. We all agree that America is better under conservative leadership, that men do not belong in women’s sports and that grooming children and pandering to trans ideology for children is child abuse.
“We are defending conservative policies in Alabama and are proud to be a boots on the ground republican club. We are thankful for our paid members and our sponsors that help provide us with the ability to continue building these conservative policies in Alabama,” Blalock said.
He concluded with a request for those present to consider joining as a member or making a donation by visiting www.lcrhuntsville.com/membership.
The Log Cabin Republicans are “loyal Republicans who believe in limited government, strong national defense, free markets, low taxes, personal responsibility, and individual liberty. As such, we believe it is wholly consistent as the Party of Lincoln which formed in order to end slavery, and as conservatives who believe in a limited government that expands freedom for its citizens rather than takes it away, that the Republican Party be the champion for equal rights and protections for all.”
