State Representative Rhett Marques has launched the first television advertisement of his campaign for Alabama's 2nd Congressional District, becoming the first Republican candidate in the special primary to go on broadcast television ahead of the August 11 election.

The 30-second spot, titled "Alabama Values," presents the Enterprise Republican as a proven conservative aligned with President Donald Trump and U.S. Senator Katie Britt. The ad emphasizes Marques' legislative record, including his support for tax reductions and his commitment to advancing the Trump administration's agenda if elected to Congress.

In the commercial, Marques says:

"I'm Rhett Marques, the America First fighter President Trump trusts to get the job done.
“Because the fight to save our country is far from over.
I cut 1.5 billion dollars in taxes to lower costs for Alabama families.
“Now, I am proud to have the endorsement of President Trump and Senator Katie Britt.
“I'll work with them to deport criminal illegals, ban DEI, and keep boys out of girls' locker rooms.”

According to the campaign, the commercial is backed by a media buy exceeding $200,000 and will air across the Dothan, Montgomery and Columbus television markets through Election Day. Campaign officials also say Marques is currently the only Republican candidate in the race with a broadcast television presence.

Marques, a longtime Wiregrass businessman, owned and operated a tire and automotive service business for more than 25 years before entering public office. During his time in the Alabama House of Representatives, he has promoted tax relief, deregulation and conservative social policies.

His campaign has assembled a lengthy list of endorsements, including President Donald Trump, U.S. Sen. Katie Britt, House Republican leadership, Lt. Gov. Will Ainsworth, the Alabama Farmers Federation, Rural Electric Cooperatives of Alabama, the Alabama Forestry Association, the Home Builders Association of Alabama, Manufacture Alabama, and the Petroleum & Convenience Marketers of Alabama.

Trump announced his endorsement in June, calling Marques an "America First Patriot" and praising his legislative record before giving him his "Complete and Total Endorsement."

Marques is seeking the Republican nomination in Alabama's 2nd Congressional District in the August 11 special primary. Because of Alabama's special election rules, there will be no Republican runoff. The primary winner will advance directly to the November 3 general election against Democratic U.S. Rep. Shomari Figures.
