DOTHAN, Ala. — The Mighty Alabama Strike Force is keeping its boots on the ground within state lines for the first time in its nearly 20-year history to campaign in what has become Alabama's most competitive congressionalrace.
More than 35 volunteers from across the state arrived in Dothan Tuesday morning to begin a three-day grassroots operation supporting Republican congressional nominee Rhett Marques.
"Democrats are flooding our district with money from California, New York, and left-wing billionaires because they know Shomari Figures is a vote for their radical socialist agenda that will empty our prisons, fund sex-change surgeries for children, andallow illegal aliens to vote," Marques said.
"Shomari has lied time and time again to distract Alabamians from the truth about his crazy voting record. The truth remains: Shomari voted for the largest tax increase on hardworking families in American history. Shomari voted to spend our taxpayer dollarson gender transition surgeries for children and benefits for illegal aliens. And Shomari worked with Joe Biden to let murderers and other dangerous convicted criminals back onto our streets."
"This race is bigger than me. It's about craziness vs. common sense, and we have a country to save," Marques told the group of volunteers.
Led by Joan Reynolds, the grassroots organization has mobilized Alabama volunteers since 2008 to support Republican candidates in competitive elections across the country.
The group organizes weeklong trips that put Alabama volunteers on the front lines, knocking doors and encouraging turnout ahead of Election Day.
Its efforts have taken volunteers to battleground states including Ohio and Virginia, most recently deploying to Georgia earlier this year ahead of the state's 2026 U.S. Senate election.
This time, the battleground is in their own backyard.
With less than a week left for Republicans to make a final push to flip Alabama's Second Congressional District from blue to red, the Strike Force will spend the remainder of the week encouraging Republicans to get out and vote Nov. 3.
