Morgan County District Attorney Scott Anderson has added his name to a growing list of veteran Alabama prosecutors backing Katherine Robertson in the Republican runoff for Attorney General set for June 16.

Anderson, who has served as District Attorney in Alabama’s 8th Judicial Circuit for 16 years, issued a written statement praising Robertson’s experience and her long work with local prosecutors across the State. Before taking office in 2010, he also served 10 years as a municipal prosecutor and has handled major violent crime cases, including capital murder prosecutions.

In his endorsement, Anderson said:

“I am proud to support Katherine Robertson because the district attorneys of this state share a special relationship with our attorney general, and it matters an awful lot who sits at the helm of that office.
The AG is called upon to help defend our turf, handle all of our appeals, and ensure that we have the tools to do our jobs effectively. Over the last ten years, Katherine Robertson has played a key role in those efforts.
She knows what we need and, more importantly, how to deliver for the prosecutorial community. Katherine has the skillset, the relationships, and the integrity needed to lead that office well.
I am proud to support her and ask my fellow Alabamians to show up big for her in the Republican runoff on June 16th.”
