National Right to Life Backs Moore for Senate
Pro-life group cites Moore’s record on unborn life as the Alabama Republican seeks a U.S. Senate seat
National Right to Life, the nation’s oldest pro-life organization, has endorsed U.S. Rep. Barry Moore in Alabama’s race for the U.S. Senate.
The endorsement comes as Moore continues to build support from conservative groups ahead of Alabama’s Republican Senate runoff election. Moore, a Congressman from Enterprise and a longtime ally of President Donald Trump, is seeking the seat being vacated by U.S. Sen. Tommy Tuberville. He advanced to the runoff after finishing as the top candidates in the Republican primary on May 19.
In announcing the endorsement, National Right to Life President Carol Tobias praised Moore’s record on abortion and pro-life issues.
"Barry Moore has demonstrated a steadfast commitment to protecting innocent human life and advancing policies that respect the dignity of every member of the human family," Tobias said. "His record reflects both conviction and compassion, and we are proud to endorse him for the United States Senate."
Tobias said the organization believes Moore will play a key role in future debates over life issues in Washington.
"With critical debates ahead in Washington, Barry Moore's voice will be an important one in the fight to build a culture that values and protects every human life," Tobias added. "We look forward to working alongside him to advance policies that support mothers, protect unborn children, and uphold the dignity of all people."
Moore welcomed the endorsement and pointed to his record in Congress.
"I'm honored to have the support of National Right to Life," Moore said. "I've fought to protect the unborn in the House and I will keep fighting in the Senate. Alabama knows that all life is a gift from God, who knew us before we were formed."
The endorsement adds another national conservative organization to Moore’s list of supporters. In recent weeks, his campaign has also announced endorsements from groups including the National Rifle Association Political Victory Fund, the Alabama Forestry Association, Alabama FarmPAC, and Eagle Forum PAC
National Right to Life was founded in 1968 and is one of the nation’s leading pro-life advocacy organizations. The group has long been active in federal and state elections, backing candidates who support restrictions on abortion and policies aimed at protecting unborn children.
