President Trump Signs Palmer Bill Protecting Against Biden-Harris Overreach
AL Rep. Palmer’s bill blocks Biden-Harris administration’s attempt to ban tankless gas water heaters

On Friday, May 9, President Trump signed H.J. Res 20, a bill sponsored by U.S. Representative Gary Palmer (AL-06) that blocks the Biden-Harris administration’s last minute attempt to ban tankless natural gas water heaters.
In the final days of the Biden-Harris Administration, a rule was implemented that would ban natural gas fired tankless water heaters. H.J. Res 20 is a Congressional Review Act (CRA) bill to repeal the Biden-Harris administration’s overreaching rule.
Rep. Palmer released the following statement:
“I am honored to witness President Trump sign my commonsense legislation into law. This is a reversal of the previous administration’s attempt to remove the American people’s choice in appliances, in this case, water heaters. I thank President Trump for signing this bill, and I look forward to seeing how we can continue to work on behalf of the American people in the future.”
H.J. Res. 20 passed the House in February of this year by a vote of 221-198-2. At that time, Rep. Palmer said:
“In November, the American people gave the Republican party a mandate to put the people first. By passing H.J. Res 20, we are fulfilling that mandate. This is a major step towards undoing the previous administration’s attack on home appliances and reinstating the importance of consumer choice. Not only does this bill protect gas water heaters, but it protects all natural gas appliances. I look forward to seeing this bill pass in the Senate and eventually land on President Trump’s desk.”
