Qualified Candidates in Alabama’s Special Primary Election

Qualifying for Alabama’s special primary election in Congressional Districts 1,2,6 & 7 closed on Friday afternoon, with 7 Democrats and 14 Republicans throwing their hats in the ring for the races.

The special primary will be held on August 11, and each will be “winner take all,” with the top candidate becoming their party’s nominee. No runoff is possible in these races, as candidates must be certified by their respective parties to the Secretary of State’s office no later than 5:00 PM on Thursday, August 13.
