The Supreme Court Got It Right—We Cannot Miss This Moment

When the U.S. Supreme Court recently reaffirmed that race has no place in the drawing of congressional districts, it didn’t break new ground—it restored common sense. For many Americans, including right here in the River Region of Alabama, the reaction was simple: “What took so long?!”
For years, the redistricting process has been clouded by the idea that voters can and should be sorted primarily by race. That approach was never sustainable, and it was never fair. This latest decision makes clear that our system is meant to represent people as individuals. Not as collective categories!
At the same time, Alabama remains under a court order preventing the use of newly drawn congressional maps until after the 2030 census. As Governor Kay Ivey has noted, that matter is now before the Supreme Court. In light of this ruling, the direction should be unmistakable.
Let’s be honest about what has been happening. For too long, some political interests particularly the Democratic leaders, have attempted to engineer outcomes by carving districts along racial lines, assuming that doing so guarantees victory. That approach doesn’t just weaken the integrity of our elections, it underestimates voters. It rests on the flawed belief that people of color will vote blindly, without question or independent thought.
That assumption is not just outdated—it is wrong!
Voters today are paying attention. They are engaged. They expect candidates to present real solutions, defend their values, and earn their support. When the focus shifts from winning trust to manipulating maps, it reveals a deeper problem: a lack of confidence in the strength of their candidates and their party itself.
No voter, regardless of race, should ever be taken for granted.

With the injunction now before the Supreme Court, there is an opportunity to align action with principle. The Court has spoken clearly on the role of race in redistricting. This should ensure that Alabama is no longer held back from implementing maps based on population, geography, and shared community interests.
This is about more than lines on a map. It is about restoring integrity to the process and reaffirming respect for every voter in this state.
Alabama has a chance to lead. Not through division, but through fairness rooted in law and common sense. The principle has been affirmed. Now, it must be applied. The time for clarity has passed. The time for action has arrived. We cannot miss this moment. We must act worthy of ourselves by unapologetically uplifting our shared values.
A special session of the Alabama Legislature has been called by the Governor concerning redistricting. We applaud our state and local public officials who have so accurately discerned this time of action.
May our Representatives and our Senators seize this moment of opportunity to help restore our republic and revive our future by giving our state new districts that reflect our shared values throughout every state legislative district as well as every congressional district in the great state of Alabama.
In this divinely ordained time of great awakening to what it truly means to be an American based on our concepts of liberty and the contents of our characters, now is the time to forge expeditiously ahead with a New Conservative Pax Alabama. One built on widespread held beliefs in our American way of life instead of one built on political division designed to separate the people of this great state within racial quotas.
