Trump Backs Lindell for Minnesota Governor
Trump gives Mike Lindell his "complete and total endorsement" as the MyPillow founder seeks Minnesota's Governorship
President Donald Trump has thrown his support behind MyPillow founder Mike Lindell in Minnesota's race for Governor, issuing a full-throated endorsement that could reshape the Republican primary just as early voting gets underway.
In a post Wednesday on Truth Social, Trump praised Lindell as "the 'Pillow Man,' and one of America's greatest and most hard working Patriots," while urging Minnesota Republicans to back his longtime ally.
"Mike Lindell, the 'Pillow Man,' and one of America's greatest and most hard working Patriots, is running to be GOVERNOR OF MINNESOTA," Trump wrote. He added that "Early Primary Voting has begun and, if given the chance, Mike will be SPECTACULAR!!!"
Trump also said Lindell "truly loves Minnesota" and wants "to bring it back from oblivion and embarrassment." The President credited Lindell for what he described as years of sacrifice in support of "Election Integrity," before concluding with an emphatic endorsement.
"MIKE LINDELL HAS MY COMPLETE AND TOTAL ENDORSEMENT - HE WILL NOT LET YOU DOWN," Trump wrote. "Good Luck Mike!!!"

Lindell quickly welcomed the endorsement, calling it a major boost for his campaign. Speaking to CBS Minnesota, he said the endorsement was "huge" and "exciting," adding that he believes it gives Minnesotans hope for political change.
The endorsement places Trump's political influence squarely behind Lindell in a crowded Republican primary scheduled for Aug. 11. Lindell is competing against several well-known Republicans, including Minnesota House Speaker Lisa Demuth and businessman Kendall Qualls.
Lindell, best known nationally as the founder of MyPillow, announced his gubernatorial campaign late last year. It is his first run for elected office after years as one of Trump's most visible supporters.
Trump's endorsement also continued his criticism of Minnesota's Democratic leadership. In his Truth Social message, the President described the State's current direction in bleak terms and argued Lindell could restore the State. Trump has repeatedly criticized outgoing Governor Tim Walz, who is not seeking another term.
Trump was also highly critical of U.S. Democratic Senator Amy Klobuchar, who is currently running for Minnesota Governor. In an earlier Truth Social post, Trump said, “I have gotten to know Klobuchar over the years, and find her to be equally as incompetent as Walz, and probably equally as corrupt in that…forget about these Corrupt Dumocrats like Amy Klobuchar.”

Minnesota has not elected a Republican Governor since 2006, making the race one of the GOP's highest-profile Statewide contests of the 2026 election cycle.
