Community members and supporters across Alabama House District 55 will gather Saturday evening in Birmingham as write-in candidate Keith O. Williams officially launches the next phase of his campaign.

The “District 55 Community Kickoff: Official Write-In Campaign Launch” is scheduled for May 23 from 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at Memorial Park Pavilion, located at 524 Sixth Avenue South in Birmingham.

The event will focus on issues tied to affordability and household costs affecting families across District 55. Topics expected to be discussed include utility bills, housing costs, groceries, transportation, healthcare access, infrastructure, education support, and economic opportunity.

“This campaign has always been about the people of District 55 and the everyday challenges families face across Alabama,” Williams said. “No matter the process, the movement continues. Residents deserve another voice, another choice, and leadership focused on affordability, accountability, transparency, and long-term opportunity.”

The event will include community discussion, voter education on the write-in process, volunteer opportunities, and conversations about economic development and neighborhood investment.

Williams’ campaign has centered heavily on civic engagement, affordability concerns, and government accountability. Organizers say the campaign has also worked to increase public awareness about voter participation and representation within the district.

Media members have been invited to attend the event, conduct interviews, and speak with supporters and campaign organizers.

Williams is a community advocate and nonprofit leader running as a write-in candidate for Alabama House District 55. His campaign platform focuses on affordability issues, community engagement, transparency in government, and long-term economic opportunity for residents throughout the district.
