BamaCarry Endorses Hampton Harris in AL-2 Race
Gun rights group BamaCarry backs Hampton Harris, citing his support for an uncompromising defense of Second Amendment rights
Republican congressional candidate Hampton Harris has secured the endorsement of BamaCarry, Alabama's only "No Compromise" advocate for the Second Amendment. The endorsement adds another conservative organization to his growing list of supporters ahead of the Aug. 11 Republican primary for Alabama's 2nd Congressional District.
BamaCarry’s mission is to "restore, protect, and maintain" the right to keep and bear arms as guaranteed by the U.S. and Alabama Constitutions. The organization opposes incremental gun control measures, firearm permitting requirements, and government infringement on the rights of law-abiding gun owners.
Harris welcomed the endorsement, reaffirming his support for broad Second Amendment protections.
"I am honored to receive the support of BamaCarry. The Second Amendment is not a privilege granted by government — it is a God-given right to defend ourselves, our families, and our freedom. I believe in virtually no restrictions on the right of law-abiding citizens to keep and bear arms. Criminals will always find ways to obtain firearms; honest citizens should never be forced to ask permission to exercise a constitutional right. In Congress I will stand firmly against red-flag laws, against new federal restrictions, and against any attempt to treat the Second Amendment as a second-class right."
The endorsement follows a series of recent backing from conservative organizations as Harris campaigns in the crowded Republican primary. In recent weeks, he has also received endorsements from the Christian Coalition of Alabama, Eagle Forum PAC, and the Women's Prayer and Voting Army.
A Montgomery native, Harris is an attorney, small business owner, and real estate broker seeking the Republican nomination for Alabama's 2nd Congressional District. Before the State's congressional map was redrawn, he was the only Republican to enter the race against incumbent Democratic Rep. Shomari Figures under the previous district boundaries. Harris graduated from Auburn University at Montgomery and Samford University's Cumberland School of Law and has centered his campaign on pro-life policies, constitutional rights, religious liberty, support for military families, and limited government.
The Republican special primary for Alabama's 2nd Congressional District is scheduled for Aug. 11. The winner will advance to the Nov. 3 general election.
